Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture
Legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright came to Lakeland in 1938 to create a “great educational temple” in Florida. He designed 18 structures for Florida Southern College to resemble buildings rising “out of the ground…and into the sun.” Twelve structures were built and you can admire them on a self-guided tour.
The Florida Air Museum at Sun ‘n Fun
Aviation history reaches new heights with a rich variety of aircraft and artifacts covering the history of flight. Step back in time with an extensive collection of Howard Hughes memorabilia including rare artifacts, such as models of the “Spruce Goose” and some of Hughes’ personal flight suits, medals and trophies.
Bok Tower Gardens
Located on “Iron Mountain,” the highest point in peninsular Florida, Bok Tower Garden’s historic beauty is a treat to all the senses. Explore 250 acres of serene gardens surrounding the park’s signature 205-foot marble and coquina carillon tower.
